Books Just for Supplemental Oxygen Users
The late Dr. Tom Petty was known far and wide as the father of home oxygen therapy. Through his research into the area, people living with home oxygen today are enjoying a much better quality of life.
Back in 2004, Dr. Petty published a book called “Adventures of an Oxy-Phile” to share his knowledge and expertise with people on supplemental oxygen, along with stories about living with oxygen from real oxygen patients. When he passed away in December of 2009, he was hard at work on a second edition, which friends and colleagues completed and published last year.
The new book, “Adventures of an Oxy-Phile2” is now available for sale on drtompetty.org—and so is a FREE download of the first edition, which has been out of print for the last year or so.
So if you are an oxygen user, or know someone who is, download the first edition and learn how supplemental oxygen isn’t the end of something—it’s the beginning.
If you want to know more, the second book may be just what the doctor ordered. With more stories by real patients who have done amazing things while on oxygen, plus chapters by physicians and respiratory therapists who go over the latest developments in the area, it can also assist you in your journey to live well with lung disease.
