The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is making COPD a focus of their audio messages in October, just in time to coincide with Respiratory Care Week.
The message talks about a NIH study that shows that a common antibiotic reduces COPD flare-ups. NIH sponsors a series of podcasts and radio messages on their website that allow you to learn about health problems through an audio medium rather than reading through a webpage.
The NHLBI, a part of the NIH family of institutes, also has a good repository of information on COPD in their Learn More, Breathe Better campaign.
October 23–29 is Respiratory Care Week, a time to focus on and learn more about lung health. It is a week sponsored by the AARC to recognize respiratory therapists, the lung health experts on COPD and other lung diseases.
